Beginner
By the end of this lesson, you'll be able to:
- Describe how Loom Notetaker joins and records your meetings
- Identify what AI-generated outputs are created after a meeting
- Explain how Notetaker helps teams stay aligned with meeting recaps
- Recall that you can take your meeting notes beyond Loom into Confluence
Automate all your meeting recordings
Loom AI Notetaker automatically joins your scheduled meetings on Zoom, Google Meet, and Microsoft Teams to record them for you. Rather than needing to remember to press "Record" in Loom yourself, a dedicated Notetaker bot captures the conversation and uses AI to generate structured meeting notes afterwards – allowing you to stay fully focused on the conversation at hand.

Connect Loom Notetaker to your calendar
To get started with Loom Notetaker, you'll need to connect your calendar to your Loom workspace.
To connect Loom Notetaker to your calendar:
- Open Loom and select Meetings from the left sidebar.
- Select the option to connect your Google or Outlook calendar.
- Authenticate your Google or Microsoft account in the pop-up window and grant Loom the necessary permissions.
- Once connected, you can find your upcoming meetings in the Meetings tab.
If the option to connect your calendar isn't available, your org admin may need to enable the Loom Notetaker feature for your workspace first.
Auto-record and flexibly control
Once your calendar is connected, you can choose how Loom Notetaker records your meetings – and adjust it at any time.
👇 Click the boxes below to explore the options available to you.
When the Notetaker joins a meeting, attendees will see it appear as a participant named "Loom Notetaker" and receive a notification in the meeting chat that recording has begun. This means no one's caught by surprise, and everyone stays in the loop.
Generate AI-powered meeting notes
Once your meeting ends, Loom Notetaker gets to work on your recording. Within minutes, you'll have a useful set of takeaways.
👇 Click the tabs to explore what can be produced.
A full, searchable transcript of your meeting – available in 50 languages. Use it to find the exact moment someone said something, or to review discussions you missed.
👉 For example: Yuki couldn't catch everything during a fast-moving technical discussion. Afterwards, she searches the transcript for "API rate limit" and jumps straight to that part of the conversation to review exactly what was agreed.

Stay aligned with meeting recaps
Loom Notetaker helps ensure that everyone stays informed – whether they were in the room or not – by automatically sending a recap email to internal invitees (people who share your company's email domain).
The recap includes an AI-generated summary, automated action items, and a link to the full recording, which makes it easy for your team to catch up quickly and allows them more time to focus on high-value work.
👇 Get a glimpse of what the meeting recap provides your invitees.

Turn Loom notes into Confluence pages
The Loom Notetaker automatically turns every recorded meeting into a structured Confluence page. Instead of manually writing up meeting notes, your discussions become searchable knowledge that your team can revisit long after the meeting ends.
👇 Click each box below to explore what happens once your meeting notes are generated.
To help with security, these newly created meeting notes are initially only shared with meeting invitees who have access to Confluence.
