How Rovo Search works
Rovo Search is powered by two key capabilities that set it apart from traditional search.
Unified search across platforms
Rovo connects to your organization's tools through connectors, which are integrations that bring third-party data into Rovo's search index. This means a single query can return a Confluence page, a Jira epic, a Google Doc, and a Slack thread, all in one results view.
There are two types of Rovo connectors:
- Admin-managed connectors: Are set up by an org admin to establish a connection between Rovo and a third-party tool, accessing its data while respecting user permissions.
👉 For example: Connecting Google Drive lets Rovo surface shared docs in search results.
- Smart link connectors: Work automatically using smart link data to show results based on individual user permissions, with no admin setup required.
👉 For example: A Loom video linked in Confluence can appear in Rovo search results for anyone who already has access.
Smarter, context-aware understanding
Rather than relying on exact keyword matches, Rovo interprets what you're asking for. It understands context, recognizes related concepts, and synthesizes information from multiple sources into a single, coherent response.
👉 For example: Kenji needs to pull together the latest project updates for a stakeholder report. Previously, he'd spend hours combing through Jira work items, Confluence pages, and Google Drive documents. With Rovo Search, he enters one query and gets relevant results from all of these tools, giving him everything he needs to start building his report immediately.
